Guided Wild Hog Hunts
Hog hunting is a time-honored tradition in the United States of America. Further, in recent years there has been an increase in the total number of hunts organized here in Georgia. This is mainly due to the fact that the population of wild hogs has exploded. The demand for guided wild hog hunts has also increased to a great extent here in the Southeast. This means that if you have always wanted to become a part of this time-honored tradition, then right now is the best time. However, there are some tips that you should know about before going on your first Georgia-guided hog hunt. Here are a few of those tips:
- The first thing that you need to know is that wild hogs live in deciduous and mixed forests. Here in middle Georgia, those include heavily wooded swamps and marshland areas. A good quality day pack with adequate food and water is recommended when scouting these areas for fresh sign made by wild hogs.
- It is also recommended that you learn about the regulations regarding wild hog hunting in the state where you plan to hunt. The best part is that most states have few regulations when it comes to hunting wild hogs as their population is exploding and the states are desperate to bring these populations under control.
- Wild hogs love the swamp land and wet areas here at Hog Wild USA. Because wild boar do not have sweat glands, they have to “wallow” to cool off here in South Georgia. You can expect to see wild hogs near these water sources in the mornings and late evenings. We have our hunting stands strategically placed over these water sources and “wallows” to maximize your chances of an encounter with these elusive animals.
- If you ever come across any “pig” trails made by wild hogs, you should keep track of those trails as wild boars are creatures of habit and will come back down those trails headed back to their favorite feeding areas and wallows.
We at Hog Wild USA provide guided wild hog hunts in Georgia and go the extra mile to ensure that your hunting trip is full of amazing memories that you are going to remember forever.
